Panjab University is one of the oldest Universities of the Country, having glorious history of 125 years of providing quality training and research work in diverse areas such as Arts, Science, Technology and Medicines. The University expanded it’s activities in the technical education in 2002 establishing in campus technical institution U.I.E.T.  venturing into the engineering area that addresses the current requirements of the industry and research. In order to expand the quality technical education Panjab University has started a Regional Centre at Hoshiarpur, with a motive to provide quality education to young generation of Punjab. Labs: The Regional campus has various labs required for the courses with ample equipments in them, which include COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGG LAB, ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION LAB, APPLIED SCIENCES LABS, ELECTRICAL LAB, MECHANICAL LAB AND WORKSHOP | MORE

Library: There are around 8140 books at present in the library.  The library hours of this library are from 9.00 AM to 5 PM on all working days. Working hours and days of the library are generally extended during examination days on students demand. Besides the library has adequate number of daily newspapers and periodicals.

Auditorium: A huge auditorium has been constructed over the administrative block with large seating capacity.

Canteen:  An aesthetically built and well maintained canteen serves quality eatables to students and staff at subsidized rate. It caters  hot & cold beverages and a water cooler fitted with purifier

Medical Facilities: The institute has its own medical clinic-dispensary to provide medical aid not only to students but to community at large. Two regular qualified medical officers (Allopathic and Homeopathic) along with support staff, are available in  the campus.

Transport: The campus has got it’s own bus, Van required for various trips and practical trainings of the students. University has started the Bus Service from Hoshiarpur Campus to PU Campus Chandigarh on Weekends i.e. Friday and return on Monday

• Students won Overall Second position at BCET Gurdaspur with winning 15 Prizes
• Students won Three prizes at TECHNITi held at NIT Jalandhar
• Students won IIIrd position among 69 teams in WIRED ROBOT RACING competition conducted by TECHNOPHILIA SOLUTIONS held at THAPAR UNIVERSITY, PATIALA during ARANYA TECH FEST on 11th and 12th October, 2008.
• SSGPURC organized its first Techno-Cultural Fest "AAROHAN" on April 3rd 4th a& 5th 2009 for further details log on to www.aarohan.co.in
• The students have got 2nd & 3rd Prize at KSHITIJ 2010- the Techno management Fest of IIT-Kharagpur (Asia's Largest Tech-Fest) in the event conducted by American Society of mechanical engineers (ASME). The following students stood 2nd and grabbed a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- together with the certification from ASME.
